Demand Planning (Core Enterprise)

Posted on

SFJ Systems has been implementing planning and scheduling systems since 1998 we also have considerable experience with demand planning and finite scheduling systems. We train managers and company staff directly as part of our implementation. SFJ specialise writing bespoke algorithms in different software typically web enabled. We have extensive implementation experience throughout the UK, Ireland, Mexico and Hungary. We are very active for large food, electronic/engineering and major appliance companies.

Typically: 2 Sisters, Lyons Seafoods, Farne Salmon, Solway foods, Fletchers Bakery; Flextronics, Scandinavian Designs, Metaltech Engineering, APG Cash Drawer, respectively.

The system requires uses demand planning, forecasting and complete integrated systems for food companies linking into SAP, AS400 and different MRP systems. We have MRP expertise and can consult at this level on clients’ systems if required. To complete the system the Core Scheduler is used to generate a finite schedule with constraints and complex logic.

SFJ is a leader in technology development and has a background in enhancing a company’s current systems to bring them in line with the latest technology using web-enabled systems to do this.

We run 24/7 support contracts if required inside the UK and Internationally.

How does it work? An introduction to Core Enterprise

Core Enterprise is a cost effective solution for demand planning, if required you don’t remove what you have just connect Core Enterprise to your current financial system. Its specifically designed to read EDI, Sales Orders, and Forecast data and convert these into a manufacturing requirement ready for planning and scheduling. Once the data is in the system a host of on suite deliverables is available through ease of use menus, as soon as the data capture is used KPIs will calculate management reports. This direct link between planning and production leads itself to accurate logistic scheduling for process manufacturing. The Forecasting module uses a graphical display at sub assembly and finish goods level where online adjustments can quickly be made. Analysis of historical data can be used to improve the forecasts. Smoothing algorithms are used to balance products across resources and pull forwards into available capacity. Core Enterprise has a closed loop communication module for sending data back to other environments.

Used over the last 23 years in the food sector and working within the UK manufacturing market place, Core Enterprise is a comprehensive web-based system ideal for any food manufacturing, it contains the following modules;

Because Core Enterprise is a web-based solution it can either be hosted by SFJ Systems on our web servers or deployed on the customer’s intranet. During the initial stages of implementation, SFJ Systems hosts the system to enable rapid debugging and understanding of the client’s data.

Our methodology enables the customer to gain confidence with the new system and also for SFJ Systems to develop a strong understanding of the customer’s manufacturing complexities.
